This Privacy Policy explains how CatsRoulette collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you visit catsroulette.com, submit a cat, make a donation, or contact us.

1. Information we collect

When you submit a cat, we may collect the cat's photo, name, nicknames, birth year, death year or date when applicable, city, country, description, and your email address. Published cat profiles may display the cat information you submitted, but your submission email address is not displayed publicly.

When you contact us, we may collect your name, email address, subject, and message. When you make a donation, we may collect your email address and, if you choose to be listed publicly, your display name and optional link.

2. Payments

Card payments are processed by Stripe, and PIX contributions for users in Brazil may be processed through LivePix. CatsRoulette does not receive or store your full payment-card number or your personal PIX banking credentials. Stripe and LivePix may process payment and related information under their own privacy practices.

3. How we use information

We use information to operate CatsRoulette, review and publish cat submissions, maintain cat profiles, respond to messages and correction or removal requests, process and verify payments and donations, prevent abuse, maintain security, and improve the service.

4. Public information

Information included in an approved cat profile is intended to be public and may appear on the roulette, search, Cat of the Day, Map, In Memory, and individual cat pages. Approximate location information may be displayed based on the submitted city and country.

5. Service providers

CatsRoulette uses third-party providers to operate the site, including Supabase for database and storage infrastructure, Cloudflare for hosting and delivery, Stripe for card payments, LivePix for PIX contributions in Brazil, and Google AdSense for advertising. These providers may process technical or account-related information as necessary to provide their services.

6. Advertising, cookies, and similar technologies

Google AdSense and its partners may use cookies, device identifiers, or similar technologies to provide, measure, personalize, and limit advertising, subject to applicable law and your consent choices where required. CatsRoulette may use a consent-management mechanism in regions where consent is required. You can also manage cookies through your browser settings, although some features may be affected.

7. Legal bases and privacy rights

Depending on where you live, applicable privacy laws may give you rights regarding your personal information, including access, correction, deletion, objection, restriction, portability, or withdrawal of consent. In Brazil, these rights may include those provided by the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD). Rights vary by jurisdiction and may be subject to legal exceptions.

8. Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, maintain published cat profiles, handle disputes and requests, meet legal or accounting obligations, and protect the service. We may retain limited records when required for legitimate legal, security, or payment purposes.

9. Children

CatsRoulette is not intended to collect personal information directly from children. Users submitting content or making payments must be at least 18 years old or have permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.

11. Requests and contact

You may request a correction or removal of a cat profile, or contact us about privacy questions, through the Contact Us page. We may ask for enough information to reasonably verify that you are authorized to make a request concerning the relevant content.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as CatsRoulette changes. The current version will be posted on this page with its latest update date.
